Friendship
is one of the sweetest joys of life.
Many might have failed beneath the bitterness
of their trial had they not found a friend.

If someone were to ask me what one word I would use to describe my trip to New Hampshire, I would instantly say, "Friendship." Not fun or wild or crazy (though it was all of those, too), but friendship. From states all across the US, friends flocked to New Hampshire for the wedding of our mutual friend, Amie. Together we wreaked hav--er--had a splendid, unforgettable 6-9 days together--May 1 through May 9 (some of the girls left on the 6th, while others stayed until the 9th.).
Though friends (to varying degrees) to begin with, those bonds, for the most part, were strengthened. Late nights, intense discussions, silly imitations, tears of joy, laughter--all of those and more are what made up this trip.
There was but one girl that most of us didn't know before hand: Laura T. A good friend of Amie's and chosen as a bridesmaid, she also traveled to New Hampshire from another state without her family. Naturally, she fell into our group. Within a very short time indeed, she definitely was "one of us". . . though many of us had only just met her! Of us, she wrote:
"I arrived in Manchester, NH with the prospect of meeting 12 girls who I knew nothing about - nothing, that is except that we all had a mutual friend in Amie. The thing that stood out to me the most concerning the entire group of girls was their love for each other and their joyful giving. It seemed that each day someone else was passing out gifts that she had either made or purchased. Dear Kelly even gave me a gift that she had brought never having met me but knowing that there would be one more girl there besides the group. That was very special to me. You're all a special group and your friendship is a very dear thing to behold. Although I must say that standing back and looking at the entire group of us, we were quite a head - turning sight as we marched along through Boston, Concord, and the mall.(Right, Kelly?!)"
Dedicated to my 13 friends--Amie, Sara, Melody, Jessica, Erin, Amanda, Julie, Laura R., Laura T., Natalie, Jana, Maggie, and Kelly--this site is a celebration of our circle of friendship and the unforgettable days we spent together.
On behalf of all of us, I bid you welcome. I think you'll enjoy the summaries and pictures, depicting the specific highlights of the trip. This site is by no means finished or complete. I still have a few of the pages to finish and many other pictures to put up, but ::ahem:: people wanted to see how it was going, so I decided to oblige. :-) (Be sure to check back!)
And if you did indeed enjoy what you saw, please sign my guestbook! It's almost a Cardinal Sin to come to my site, peruse the pages, and neglect to sign my guestbook. ;-)
Special thanks goes to all of the above mentioned girls; much of the written material you'll see on this site is what they've written per my request. Thanks to Amie, Sara, Kelly and Amanda for supplying me with pictures I didn't have! And eternal thanks goes to Melinda Lav.--my HTML doctor ;-)--for her endless help and patience, and Gretchen Glas. for her help and information.
Notes about this site: 1) These pages are best viewed if you have your text size on medium. To change or see what your text size is--go up to the top, click on View, slide on down to "Text Size" and there you'll find the various options. 2) If there is a picture with no information or details surrounding it, move your cursor over until it is resting on the picture itself. 9 times out of 10, a little note will pop up with an explanation of the picture. 3) I'm still working on Amanda's parts. More to come there, when time permits.
Updates:
6/12 - Uploaded the "new look"--though not quite
finished. New pages, summaries of highlights from trip, new
pictures, more to come.
6/15 - Well, I tried to update, but a tripod was being a pain. Plus, I found a bunch of dead links, missing pictures, etc., so the world was not informed of my update. However, NOW I have finally worked through all the problems, yay!
7/6 - Added lots of new pictures (under wedding, reception, Amanda's domain, Martha's Vineyard, etc), new summaries uploaded, more bio's under "who are we?", and more. *cheers*
7/6 - Fixed missing pictures, but most importantly, I changed my title. Hats off for the tip off, Kelly. ;-) Where would this site be without ya? ;-)
7/7 - Added two new pictures to Amanda's domain, under May 6. Thanks for Ruthie for the pictures!
7/27 - Added a few new pictures under Amanda's domain--compliments of Amanda herself. Enjoy.
9/10 - After long last, I have updated the site. You'll find new stuff under boston, who are we?, and sayings and inside jokes. Sorry for the long wait. Enjoy!
